The Challenge
TEAM 1040 required a complete overhaul of its website to better align with its brand and provide an engaging digital experience for its audience. The challenge was to integrate live streaming, interactive content, and social media elements into the website while ensuring it remained easy to manage for the station’s staff.

Update: TEAM 1040 Sports Talk Radio
TEAM 1040, Vancouver’s premier sports radio station, underwent significant changes in recent years. In February 2021, Bell Media abruptly ended its sports radio format on several stations, including TSN 1040 (formerly TEAM 1040). The station ceased local programming and transitioned to a stand-up comedy format branded as “Funny 1040.”
This sudden change led to the departure of many well-known sports media personalities and was met with considerable criticism from listeners and the local community.
In June 2023, as part of a broader restructuring, Bell Media announced the shutdown of several AM radio stations nationwide, including CKST (formerly TEAM 1040). The station ended regular programming and went off the air, marking the end of an era for Vancouver’s sports radio landscape.
These developments reflect broader trends in the media industry, with companies like Bell Media restructuring and reallocating resources in response to changing market dynamics and consumer behaviors.
